Set in the glorious Karkloof Valley, this garden was established over 35 years ago, using natural structures such as trees and hillsides to help emphasises garden shapes and views. A series of flowing herbaceous beds have been formed into garden rooms in order to minimise the effect of extreme frost conditions. These rooms are connected by Kikuyu lawns with the utilisation of hardy shrubs and perennials, such as hydrangeas, azaleas and Nandina domestica. Two huge, almost entwined, camphor trees on the front lawn are a picture of grace and enhance the feeling of peace in this garden.
