This is a story of a phoenix rising from the ashes – literally. In 2007 the farm, its house and garden were destroyed by a savage fire that tore through the property and other farms nearby. The owners have gradually restored the farm, although it is still a work in progress. A large part of the garden has been rehabilitated and filled with a combination of exotic and indigenous plants in the more formal area, while the preservation of the grasses and wildflowers that bloom throughout the year is an important concern. The garden is both pleasing and different, infused with tranquillity and a positive ambience, despite its tragic history.
