In keeping with the theme of the International Coastal Clean-up Day which has been observed annually, on the third Saturday of September, globally since 1986, the KARKLOOF CONSERVANCY is having a CLEAN UP of our own - not only do our coastal areas need cleaning up, so do our inland areas!
Following concerns about the amount of litter everywhere, we have asked our local farmers, local communities and timber companies along the Karkloof road right up to Mbona Private nature reserve, up to Curry’s Post and over the Demagtenberg mountain to help us clean up our countryside.
We need to take responsibility of our environment and be able to take pride in where we live.
This year International Coastal Clean-up Day theme was : Keep trash in the bin and not in the ocean!
So we’re changing that to KEEP TRASH IN THE BIN - NOT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROADS!!!
