Another week of “winter” which washed out or curtailed most of the playing days this past week, except for our competition day.
Competitions
On Tuesday morning 21 November, in 35 degree heat, we played the J Leslie Smith & Co trips competition, which was handsomely won by John Withers, Lyn Ventress and Ken McDonald. They were almost as hot as the sun on the day. Special thanks to our sponsors J Leslie Smith & Co, represented by Public Relations Liaison Crystal Dekker, for their lovely treats and amazing support of our club.
Club Activities
Weather permitting; we will have the usual tabs in days this week. Members are encouraged to bring the current club Drawn Trips Competition to a close during this week. Skips are requested to organise their games during tabs in times this week and including Sunday if necessary.
Social Bowls
Our Newbie Couching Sessions was again washed out on Friday afternoon. Due to the fact that we had two washed out sessions during November, we have decided to extend the opportunity to prospective new bowlers for two more weeks. Current bowlers are also encouraged to come and have some fun bowls while the newbies are being coached. Refreshments will be on sale after the session.
Regular Times Are:
Tuesday mornings Tabs in by 8.15am (Civvies)
Wednesday and Saturday afternoons Tabs in by 1.15pm. (Whites/Club Colours) Visiting bowlers are welcome to join us at these tabs in times.
Umgeni Waterfall Bowling Club is the place to be.
