This past week was definitely a well-deserved week of both mental and physical recovery after last week’s magnificent week of action. Our UWBC Committee would like to extend its sincere gratitude to each and every member of the club who helped out during last week’s Halfway Toyota All Day competition. It was indeed an awesome event.
Competitions
There were no competitions played during the past week. The weather, despite a fairly cold week, held out well and we managed to play all our tabs in games. Wednesday afternoon was dedicated to league players using the tabs in session as tactical practice sessions for the weekend’s league games.
League Activities
As mentioned above, our teams used the Wednesday tabs in session to do much tactical training and team togetherness work. To this end, all of our teams had outstanding results. Our combined Umgeni Waterfall/Mooi River ladies team beat the much fancied Maritzburg West team quite handsomely. Well done ladies. Our Men’s 3rd team travelled to Greytown for their away game and came away with a brilliant 8.5 – 4.5 point victory. Any away win deserves to be celebrated. The
cream of the cropped this week goes to our Men’s 1st team who hosted the Howick Bowling Club 1st team. Despite our awesome relationship with Howick, these matches always have a very special edge of competitiveness and it definitely was not lacking this time around either. The 1st team convincingly beat Howick by 11 – 2. Congrats to all our league teams for their outstanding performances.
Forth Coming Attractions
The next competition will be the J Leslie Smith & Co Inc 2 4 2 competition on Tuesday 24 April 2018 with tabs in by 8.15am. A continued reminder is that our Woodstone Craft Café 2 Bowl Teams-In Trips Competition which is played at 8.30am on the last Friday of every month, be played on Friday 27 April at 8.30am

Tuesday mornings Tabs in by 8.15am (Civvies)
Wednesday and Saturday afternoons Tabs in by 1.15pm. (Club Colours)
Visiting bowlers are welcome to join us at these tabs in times.
