Unexpectedly, Thokozile Ngubane who lives near the Mpophomeni Library, has free wifi 24 hours a day!
We recently conducted a little survey of wifi users to find out if this service is making a difference. While Thokozile mostly uses the wifi for social media, others report using it to apply for jobs, learners find it useful for research projects and students have applied online for tertiary education and NASFAS study loans. Many of those interviewed had no idea that the wifi is sponsored by sales of Mnandi (despite signs and notices), but Zandile Soka, who has bought a copy of the book was absolutely delighted to discover that she had contributed to providing this service. In an interview with Sunday Times reporter Nivashni Nair, Xolani Gumede who lives on Mandela Drive opposite the library quipped "If I ever put my house on the market, I can say it has free wifi 24 hours a day. Not many people in the township can say that!"
Thanks to you too for helping us to provide this service by buying or stocking Mnandi.
