Letter of thanks...
I was sitting having coffee and cake with friends last Saturday in the VILLAGE restaurant in Howick when my phone rang. It was lovely Craig Smith of the staff telling me he had found my purse on the verandah. He had gone to endless trouble – a great detective feat – to find me. Until then I was blissfully unaware that my purse was not in my handbag.
Thank you Craig – we had a great time and it is so good having a restaurant open for tea at tea-time in the Midlands on the weekend – most close so early. Please go and see for yourselves and enjoy the good service.
A very merry Christmas to you all.
Sue Physick.
And another...
On Sunday afternoon I visited Woolworths in Howick. I took my groceries to the car in a shopping trolley and didn't notice that I had left my purse in the bottom of the trolley.
I only discovered it was missing about mid-morning on Monday and, without any hope of a positive outcome, I returned to the store to enquire if it had been found.
You can imagine my surprise, not to mention relief, when the lady on the desk in front said Yes! It turned out that an employee from the shop had found the purse and gave it to a teller who had put it away. When the manager arrived on Monday morning, she gave him the purse and he locked it away in his safe.
How gratifying to know that honesty still exists in this topsy turvy country in which we live. My purse went through three different pairs of hands, was kept safe, and returned intact with everything, including the cash.
Thank you to the Management and staff of Howick Woolworths for their honesty, pleasant attitude and for sharing so genuinely in my relief. I am so impressed by you all.
