We are so sorry that we have been so quiet. To put it lightly we have been overwhelmed with every emotion. Our hearts have broken, we have been angry, we have friends that have lost everything, we have watched our town burn, it’s people cry, we have been to scared to leave our homes and sad that our beloved country is going though this. The most overwhelming feeling of all though is pure love for the beautiful people that make up our community, the sense that we will get through this and grow from this. We have come together to find food and to look after our neighbors, friends and community. I am PROUD to be a South African, WOW what incredible people we have that make this country one of the best. We have managed to source enough food to keep the children who rely on us fed for some time and collections and drop off have been happening (unfortunately details cannot be shared to keep our buildings and staff safe). We are so excited, nervous and dam determined to open on Monday. Thank you for the support and we ask if you have anything to spare it will go a long way to keep tummies full, in a time many will go hungry (more than ever before). Please reach out. We will rebuild and become stronger together, it wont be easy but we have hope for better. #hope #help #heal
