The Cubs and Scouts from the 1st Howick Group have been very busy raising funds for the group. This year we sold raffle tickets for 4 sought after prizes that have been generously donated. Many Howick and Hilton residents would have been asked to buy a ticket at some stage, so thanks to everyone, we have raised much needed funds to keep our group running.
On Friday 6 August, the winners were drawn from a hat by Zulandi and Zuné van Niekerk and Nikita Wight, who were the Cubs and Scout that sold the most raffle tickets, and the winners are:
Dr. Mark Stead won a 2 night stay at the Mount Park Guest Farm.
Kimberley Lomas won a 2 night stay at The Green Lantern.
Sue van Rensburg won a Fire Fighting Course from Active Fire Services.
Danielle Smith won a First Aid Course from Global Learning Services.
A big thank you to Mount Park Guest Farm, The Green Lantern, Active Fire Services and Global Learning Services for the prizes.
Also, a big thank you to St. Johns Village Lifestyle Centre, The Hilton Quarry Centre, The Quarry Superspar, Timber Solutions, Sharp Metal Pressings and KZN Game Meat for all their contributions to the 1st Howick Cub and Scout Group. We really appreciate your generosity.
The Scout movement provides fun and constructive ways for our children and young adults to learn invaluable life skills and contribute to the community. Thanks to our committed and dedicated leaders, the 1st Howick Group continues to go from strength to strength. So, a sincere thanks to our leaders who voluntarily give of their time to give our children these wonderful opportunities.
