On Sunday night this little Spotted Eagle owl chick was spotted walking / waddling across the road near the Conservation centre ( we didn't realise it was a chick at this point as it was dark when it was seen). When we came to look for it, it was nowhere to be found. We then spotted it sitting high up in the one tree yesterday and discovered that it was actually a chick! Going back last night to see if it was still there, I heard a 'whoooo' and saw the adult sitting in the same tree calling to it. It has obviously been feeding the chick everyday. We can only assume that it fell out of the nest on Saturday or Sunday with the strong winds we had.
Beautiful to see nature at work and happy to know that this little chick will mostly survive.
