This year has once again been a tumultuous year for a number of reasons. Some of our internal club competitions had to be put on the backburner due to the ill health of many of our members, some of whom had to be hospitalised for medical procedures. We wish them all renewed health and strength. We are hopeful that everyone will be able to return to play in the near future. A good reason to be grateful is that, other than having to observe Covid-19 protocols, our members have been largely unaffected by this pandemic.
An interesting fact: At the time of writing Umgeni Waterfall Bowling Club has 19 strong, healthy members over the age of 80! Most of them still play on a regular, weekly basis. Could this be a record?
RESULTS
The winners of the the competition sponsored by Halfway Toyota Howick which was held on 08 September were Audrey van Coller and Dave McLean. The runners up were Ed Speed, Mike Cain and Neill Birdsey.
The Greendale SuperSpar competition was played on Saturday, 11 September was won by Ed Sharpe, Grace Abrahams and Shayne Knott. The runners up were Piet van Rensburg and David Mainprize.

GENERAL
Congratulations and welcome to Bruce Tucker and Pippa Griffin, the most recent members of Umgeni Waterfall Bowling Club. We hope you both have many years of fun at our club.
Regular Play: Tuesday and Wednesday (Dress Casual) and Saturday (Dress Whites) play commences at 13h30. Please be at the club by 13h15 at the latest. Play on Tuesdays commences at 09h00. Please be at the club by 08h45 at the latest.
Coaching by qualified coaches is available by arrangement – phone 033 239 2251 –evenings preferably after 17h00. Prospective new members, experienced or novice are always welcome! Come along on any club day and speak to any one of our friendly members.
Members are reminded of the 2021 AGM which is due to take place on 18 September 2021 at 15h30 as per notice posted on club’s board on 23 August.
