And we’re into June already! The weeks are flying by at a rate of knotts!
On Friday the 2nd of June we hosted an estate agent’s day with more than 50 agents playing a game of cricket bowls. Playing up the green you deliver your bowls to specially made wickets and knock the wickets in order to score a point and coming back, you play onto a mat to score runs. What a challenging game for bowlers and non-bowlers alike. Based on the laughter and noise coming from the greens we can say for certain that fun was had by all, and it was a very successful agent’s day. Well done to PGPS Attorneys, GetGo Home Loans and ABSA who sponsored the day, and to all those involved in making it the success it was.
After the estate agent’s day we played Friday Night Lights; despite the chilly weather everyone enjoyed themselves and had an absolute ball on the greens. What a welcome relief it was to warm up next to our new fire pit after the game! Well done to Jason Kent who was the overall winner, as well as Shayne Knott who came second.
Saturday afternoon was our Greendale Spar Drawn Trips competition. What a lovely afternoon in the winter sun and congratulations to Colin Brown, Mike Scheffer and Sindi Hlongwane on their win, and to Koos Marais, Barry Fairbrother and Pat Ciro who came second.
Events to keep an eye out for…
Our plans for Youth Day are starting to come together. We’ll be hosting a fun day and will be pairing a child aged between 10 and 18 with a bowler for a game of pairs. Players will play one session of 8 ends, after which we’ll have hot dogs and burgers on sale for lunch. Anyone wanting to join in can contact Wendy on 071 353 2866. Competition entry is R30 per person.
