It’s been a bit of a quiet week this past week!
Of course, there have still been some wonderful games of bowls played during tabs in and our hillbillies had a fantastic time of Wednesday evening. The Midlands Hillbillies are our social bowlers who play on a Wednesday afternoon starting between 4.30 and 5pm. For anyone who is eager to try the sport of lawn bowls, this is a great introduction; it’s a relaxed environment where you can learn the techniques, etiquette and rules without any pressure. The only expectation of a new or prospective bowler is that you have fun! And yes, we even have club bowls that prospective players are able to borrow for the afternoon too.
Another Wednesday evening activity at UWBC is a great game of darts! On that note, we have some exciting news… after 2 years as a social darts clubs, the UMngeni Darts Association has been registered with KZN Darts and Darts SA, with their home ground being UWBC. Now that they are a registered club, they’ll be able to start participating in league games which starts next month. This past Saturday saw players from within the association play in the first round of qualifiers to go through to the All Natal trials. The next rounds will be played at UWBC this week for both the men’s and ladies’ sides. For more information or to join our darts players for social darts please contact Amar on 082 970 4949.
In other news we’d like to welcome Claire Butlin of Butlin Hearing to the UWBC family. Claire has recently taken up the opportunity of advertising on one of our greens facing sign boards and how impressive does her branding look! Thank you Caire!
