uMngeni SPCA’s Annual General Meeting last Saturday attracted a record attendance of 154 Life Members, interested parties, the SPCA Management Committee, the Event Committee and SPCA staff.
Thank you to Howick Prep School for providing the hall and amenities for our use.
uMngeni’s Deputy Mayor Sandile Mnkathi, former pupil at Howick Prep School, delivered the keynote address. He stressed that the many challenges we faced could only be overcome by civil society, NGO’s, government, business and the greater community working together. The crippling shortfall in revenue from illegal electrical connections is a case in point. If we all encouraged and pressured family, friends, neighbours and colleagues to pay for electricity, that alone would contribute considerably to increasing funding for projects that benefitted the entire community.
