Despite the rainy weather on Heritage Day, every single team showed up with broad smiles and in high spirits for the Inaugural AVBOB Heritage Day Bowls Tournament.
Mayor Chris Pappas (Top image with Redge Erasmus) was warmly welcomed by Redge Erasmus and the club president. He was made aware that his presence and support was greatly appreciated. In his address to the bowlers, club members and visitors, he announced that the uMgeni Municipality will be partnering with the club to bring new talent into the sport of bowls. Together the municipality and the club will be “Building partnerships for Progress”. This bodes well for the future of the club.

The winners of the tournament were 1st Prize: Tara, Gerry and Liam Janse van Rensburg, Fanie Bester and Mark Taylor. 2nd Prize went to Larry Wiilliams, Craig Whitby, Stuart McConnachie, Colin Burden and Clint Nortje.
The monthly Competition held on 26 September, sponsored by JS Automotie Bosch Car Service was won by Pippa Griffin, Dutchie le Roux and Rick Olivier. Zeek Harper and Juwairia representing Bosch, presented the prizes which were generous vouchers donated by Woodstone.
The next competition to be held will be sponsored by Halfway Toyota.This competition will take place on Saturday at 13:00 for 13:15. This will be followed by the AGM which is due to start at 16:00
