Working with ToPS Species (Threatened or Protected Species).
Guess who's got teeth.
What happens at around 25 days of age, Servals kittens have their first teeth appear. The canine teeth erupt from the gums and the kittens after a week or so of discomfort, as with any teething baby, are relieved to discover these new tools which will serve them for the rest of their life in killing prey.
This is the time to start introducing the kitten to something other than milk formula. We start with a little taste of Hill's AD smeared on the teat to give the first taste of something meaty.
We love what we do, and how we do it.
But we can't do it alone. Please visit our website for ideas on how you can help: www.freemewildlife.org/support-us
Pictured above: That's what has been causing the discomfort and runny tummy over the last while. This kitten has been teething and finally, at around 25 days of age, the canine teeth erupt.
