This morning, at our Awards Assembly, Grade 11 learner, Megan Tyrer, was presented with a Gold Badge Award.
Achieving full colours in all three codes – academics, sport and culture – is a rare and outstanding achievement, rarely achieved in Grade 12. Megan is the first girl to receive this award in Grade 11.*
She was awarded Full Colours for Academics in 2022 when she achieved first place in her grade and Full Colours for Sport when she represented KZN Inland Soccer. In 2023, Megan was awarded Full Colours for swimming and this morning she was presented with Full Colours for Performing Arts.
In honouring one of our learners, we are called to remember that our level of success is determined by our level of discipline and perseverance.
Warren Buffet is quoted as saying: "We do not need to be smarter than the rest, just more disciplined than the rest."
This young lady, who lives her life with a servant heart, always steadfast in her faith and moral compass, was quick to take up the challenge.
Her characteristics of persistence, consistency, dedication and will power have seen her achieve this phenomenal accolade.
Age Quod Agis, Megan!
