Another week of fantastic bowling at UWBC.
Tuesday the 16th was a great morning of bowls sponsored by J Leslie Smith. This particular competition is played in a 2-4-2 format which is always interesting as both players get to experience the position of skip and lead. What a challenge!
As always it was a wonderful day. Well done to the winning team of Steve Smith & Barbara Hook as well as the runners up of Dave McLean & Ann Cacho. Winners of the plate event were Peter Storm and Charles Arter.
Also, well done to Pippa Griffin and Colin Burden who represented our club at the NIBA Champion of Champions Tournament. They both flew the flag high and put in their best efforts. Pippa, who is a novice, played against a very experienced player from Lynnwood Club. Whilst Pippa didn’t make it through to the next round she certainly played with heart and we know we’ll see great things from her in the future!
Colin played in a tough field made up of provincial and national players and did us proud to make it through to the finals where he unfortunately lost, but had a very close game against an international bowler.
Both Pippa and Colin are certainly our champions!
